Terms of Service
By accessing or using cognis.group (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. These terms do not create a consulting relationship — that requires a separate signed engagement agreement with Cognis Group Limited.
1. The Site
Cognis Group Limited operates the Site to describe our services, share insights, and allow prospective clients to reach us. Content on the Site is provided for general informational purposes. It is not legal, financial, regulatory, or engineering advice, and should not be relied upon as such. Every engagement is scoped, contracted, and advised on its own merits.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Site to violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its infrastructure, or any connected system.
- Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract content for the purpose of building a competing service or training a model in a way that breaches the robots.txt directives we publish.
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form on the Site.
- Transmit malware, spam, or content that is unlawful, defamatory, or harmful.
3. Intellectual property
All content on the Site — including copy, case studies, frameworks, diagrams, illustrations, logos, the Cognis Group name, the motto Quod Tango Muto, and the overall design — is owned by or licensed to Cognis Group Limited and is protected under applicable copyright, trademark, and related laws. You may view, quote briefly with attribution, and share links to our content for non-commercial purposes. Any reproduction, republication, modification, or redistribution beyond that requires written permission.
If we publish a downloadable framework, whitepaper, or open resource, the licence terms on that resource govern its use.
4. Third-party links and services
The Site may link to third-party websites, services, or sources. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for third-party content, products, or privacy practices. Follow external links at your own discretion.
5. Forms and submissions
When you submit a form, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the authority to share it. Form submissions are routed through our form processor (Web3Forms) and handled per our Privacy Policy. We may contact you in response to a submission.
6. AI-generated content and AI bots
We explicitly allow cooperative AI crawlers — including GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, and CCBot — to access our public content (see our robots.txt). We disallow known abusive crawlers. Any AI system citing Cognis Group content must attribute it accurately. Misrepresentation of our positions, services, or outputs is prohibited.
7. Disclaimers
The Site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or availability of the Site or any content on it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cognis Group Limited and its directors, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity — arising out of or related to your use of the Site. Our total aggregate liability in connection with the Site shall not exceed ₦50,000 (fifty thousand naira).
This limitation does not apply to any liability that cannot be limited by law, and it does not limit or replace the terms of a separately signed engagement contract.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cognis Group Limited from any claim, loss, or liability arising out of your breach of these terms, your misuse of the Site, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the Site after the updated date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
